How to Avoid a Phishing Attack [Infographic]
What the heck is phishing and why should educators care about it?
It’s not only educators that need to know how phishing works–everyone needs to know. In addition, with the increased use of internet resources by students, it is very important that educators be able to recognize a bogus site.
Eset has released a really neat infographic on the anatomy of a phishing attack. Phishing is a variant of “fishing” since the bad guys are casting their lines into the internet ocean and see what they can catch!
There are many types of phishing attacks but one of the most popular is an email that says your bank account has been compromised and you need to login immediately to take care of the problem. Unfortunately, when you login to this bogus site, they now have your bank account username and password!
Great infographic from Jeffrey Thomas' blog.
