Mathematics Teachers: Creative or Not? - Planet Blog - Blog - PrometheanPlanet

Some mathematics teachers will declare themselves to be 'not creative' because within the classroom they do not create works of art, beautiful music or heart-rending poetry. However, if you think about it, you may 'discover' that you are creative as a teacher. What about those occasions when you develop mathematical ideas or processes that are awe-inspiring, for example, a complex algebraic expression that simplifies to a single term and the class goes 'wow'? Awe and wonder are closely associated with creative products.
