WallWisher

I have read several blog posts recently about WallWisher and wanted to create one. I must say it was incredibly easy. I have created three walls as of this posting: What are Ways to Use Moodle? What types of staff development for next year; and What are ways to use wallwisher. Of course, WallWisher will be on my list.

You can register for free at http://www.wallwisher.com. However, you do not have to register if you don't want to. Wallwisher only supports browsers IE7+, Firefox 2+, Safari 3+, Chrome 1+, and Opera 9+. Just click on "Build a Wall" at the top of your screen to get started. At the top of your screen click choose a picture and choose from one of the pictures that pop up; or you can upload your own picture. Click on the Title (where it says "Click here to edit Title" and type in your title. Underneath the title is a subtitle. Click there for any instructions or descriptions you want to add. Under Preferences, choose a URL for your wall. This is optional, so you don't have to put one in. Choose who can view and who can post (Everyone or only you), and choose if you want to approve all posts before going on the wall. You may want to do this if you are having students post. Choose a Theme and then click on Done. You have just created your first wall. To post to the wall, double click anywhere in the wall and start typing where it says "Write your message here".

You can move your sticky note anywhere on the screen. You can also add images, websites, audio, etc. to your post.

  1. Great post Dorene! I haven't used Wallwisher, but really want to do a staff devo session on it this summer. I think our teachers could really find great uses for it!
